Culinary Antalya

Antalya tastes of citrus, sesame and charcoal. We walk through the bazaar on the edge of the old town and the lanes of Kaleiçi, taste what locals eat at stalls and small eateries, and learn a lot about the city along the way.

Full description

We start in the bazaar, where traders offer spices, olives, cheese and dried fruit, and then walk into the old town. Along the way we taste regional specialities, including the typical bean salad piyaz with tahini, grilled meatballs and freshly baked gözleme.

We finish with Turkish coffee or tea overlooking the old harbour. Tastings are not included in the price and are paid directly at the stalls and eateries.

Meeting point

We meet at Hadrian's Gate in Kaleiçi. On request we pick you up with vehicle and driver at Antalya cruise port or at your hotel.

You will recognise me by the sign “MeinReiseleiter.de” and the visibly worn guide licence. We confirm meeting point and time with your booking.

• Cruise guests – Please state ship and time in port. We pick you up directly at Antalya cruise port and plan the return to the ship with ample buffer.
• Comfortable shoes and sun protection – Ancient sites and old-town lanes have uneven paving and little shade; please bring water in summer.
• Entrance fees – Not included in the price and paid on site; we buy the tickets for you at the counter.
